MEDILINK AMBULANCE –  LONG DISTANCE REPATRIATION

Medilink were proud to be chosen as a trusted partner to organise, plan and undertake a complex repatriation from Portugal by road.

The repatriation was required to return an Irish holiday maker, involved in a serious accident, and who sustained multiple and complex traumatic injuries.
The patient was unable to return to Ireland by air transport, so Medilink were tasked with liaising with hospitals on route, ferry companies, accommodation and other operational partners to create an action plan to safely return this patient to the receiving hospital here in Dublin. After a medical management plan was agreed for the patient for the journey, a team were dispatched from Dublin to undertake the 5 day tasking.
The plan and repatriation worked excellently, and the team handed over the patient and family to the receiving doctors on Monday morning, have completed the 4,000km journey. Well done to everyone involved!
This repatriation further proves why Medilink are the trusted partner for many organisations, especially for repatriations were quality and reliability are a must.
